Lead Architect

Nelson Associates Architectural Engineering (NAAE), a dynamic and well-established multidisciplinary design firm located in the quant village of Clinton, NY, is currently seeking a Registered Architect to join our collaborative team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and production of construction documents for a variety of commercial, institutional, and specialty building projects, working closely with designers, architects, and engineers.

As part of our production team, the Lead Architect will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of construction projects, from initial concept and design development to the final construction document package. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to manage projects independently from schematic design through construction administration. This role requires effective coordination with clients, contractors, building officials, and internal team members, as well as the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic setting. NAAE manages projects to minimize overtime work and seeks to provide employees with a healthy work-life balance by avoiding after-hour communication as much as practicable.

Ideal candidates will hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, possess an active New York State RA license (or be able to obtain one in a short time), and have a minimum of eight years of experience in architectural design and production. Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential, while familiarity with Revit and other design software is a plus. Strong communication and teamwork skills are critical, along with a solid understanding of building codes, ADA standards, and construction practices. Salary ranges from $95,000 and up commensurate with experience. Senior Mechanical Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and driven Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a dynamic, well-established, collaborative design firm. As part of a close-knit team, you’ll be working alongside engineers, architects, and designers, gaining valuable experience in both technical design and project coordination. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for a variety of building types, including commercial, healthcare, educational, and industrial projects. Civil Structural Designer/Engineer

Job description

Nelson Associates Architectural Engineering, a full service architectural and engineering firm, is seeking to hire a civil engineer. This is a great opportunity for an energetic, positive, self-motivated person to join a well-established design firm to work in a potential leadership role. This individual will be an integral part of the architectural and engineering design group, working alongside engineers, architects, and project managers in performing technical design and preparing specifications.

Minimum Education: Four-year college degree in the civil/structural field, preferably in the field of engineering.  Minimum Experience: 3 years

Duties and Responsibilities:

Civil engineering design for commercial, institutional, education, health care, multi-family housing, and other related type projects; Produce contract documents, including plans and specifications; Prepare construction and design cost estimates; Work with multi-discipline project teams to coordinate architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and fire alarm with civil/site documents; Prepare technical reports, including stormwater pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) documents; Perform review of calculations, drawings, and specifications prepared by technical staff.

Skills and Qualifications:

Working knowledge of standard construction practice and NYS Building Code; Skilled in AutoCAD and Civil 3D (Revit a plus); Strong oral and written communication skills; Ability to work as a team member interacting with architects, engineers, owners, and contractors; Ability to work independently to effectively complete routine tasks.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 – $105,000.00 per year (commensurate with experience)
